Hey, everyone
I wanted to make a log, for the CPU I'm building in Minecraft, and I also wanted to show it, and how it works Smiley. I had already built a lot of the CPU before I started logging about it, but here my log is anyways Cheesy.

24th May, 2011
So far the CPU is going very well. I have a dual 7-segment display, 5bit adder, 5bit subtractor, 5 bytes of RAM (2 bytes dedicated to the adder and subtractor) with a max. number of 31 each and a binary to decimal converter. So far the only thing my CPU can do is add and subtract two numbers, and display it with decimal numbers on the 7-segment display. Although I haven't made it so the subtractor can deal with numbers lower then 0, meaning it cannot display numbers on the 7-segment display lower then 0. That is still something I have to do Smiley. I will be making a video soon, that I will post below, showing every part of the CPU, and very shortly how it works.
But I'm in need of some ideas, as too what else my CPU could do. So if you have a idea, post it below. I would be glad to see some good suggestions Cheesy

He probably uses a Binary System involving the Minecraft Switches to do simple mathematical calculations.

you would fail with it.

No need to try to explain for Jo0ni, if he didn't understand that. He'll never understand till he learns it himself.

And now I want that video, or you could upload your world and let us explore it ourself.

I could upload the world to a website when I'm done making the video Cheesy
And yeah, I used some minecraft adders (will show those in a future redstone tutorial) and take the outputs from them and feed them into a binary converter. I will show everything in the video.

The video is here! You can watch it now, although the quality will be poor until it is fully processed. But here you go:

Here is the save file! And I have included some instructions and 2 mods, so you can get the CPU to work like it is supposed to!
Just keep in mind that there might be some bugs, since this is the not fully tested version. I might upload another when or change the link when I have all of the small bugs sorted.

Here is the download link: http://bit.ly/jKKfbM

Yea, I understood. Tho I think you did it a bit big. I'll download the map and all that to explore it myself. tho I think you really should fix it so it works without mods.

I was intending to do it without mods, but I just stumbled apon a mod that makes you able to wirelessly transfer redstone, which helps me out ALOT when I need to get redstone to the different places scattered around the CPU.
You can see in the ram and in the input of the adder/subtractor, that I used the old method, but in the display and adder/subtractor output I use the wireless redstone mod. It is REALLY helpful!

And about the size, I just didn't want to try and confine myself to a tiny little space. I wanted to have as much space as I needed, and a little extra.

Hehe, I know. But doesn't it kinda make it more epic? Like if it was a very tiny CPU, you are like "meh....". But if it's giant, it catches peoples attention Cheesy
