An update was released by Blizzard President Mike Morhaime that tells the North American users of battle.net had their "cryptographic" passwords stolen along with other information. By North America, this streches out to North America, Latin America, Austrailia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia. If you live in these areas, Blizzard strongly recommends to change your passwords right now. However, from what they can tell, this hack is not enough to access battle.net accounts. Also, global players had their e-mails that were used with their battle.net accounts taken from a list. Blizzard warns mainly the North Americans to change their passwords, and they will be prompted to change secret questions and answers soon. On the bright side, there is no actual evidence that financial information, including credit cards, addresses, or real names were taken by the hack. Morhaime and the rest of Blizzard apologize about this, and say that they will still be investigating the situation. I wonder why it only affected North American users for the most part instead of globally.
