According to Activision's Q2 fiscal report, they plan on releasing another Black Ops DLC in the next three months. Details about the DLC are pretty sparse.

Hey Treyarch/Activision... can we please stop with the ridiculous amount of DLCs... please? Please? Your game has been out for almost a year and you've kept it at a stubborn $60. Now you've made a million DLCs all priced at $15 for your $60 game.

I'm going to be frank. NOBODY CAN AFFORD ALL OF THIS. Look. I'm able to buy about 4 or 5 used games for the price of your one game... and double that amount for the amount of DLCs you've released. Look, it's cool that you're still supporting your game by making new map packs and all that, but the amount of money you've already raked in is ridiculous.

Guess what Activision's Q2 revenues were? $1.1 billion dollars... in comparison to last year's shoddy $967 million. And their revenues are only going to grow. Activision's CEO Bobby Kotick stated,

Quote
"Looking to the balance of the year, while we have numerous releases we believe our audiences will be especially excited by three key properties - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, our new online service Call of Duty Elite and Skylanders Spyro's Adventure - all of which are shaping up to be incredible.

"To date, pre-orders for Modern Warfare 3 have significantly exceeded the pre-orders for Black Ops at this time last year. In addition, we believe that Call of Duty Elite, which was built for Modern Warfare 3 and is expected to launch with the game on November 8, should redefine social connectivity for multiplayer gaming.

"Additionally, we expect that Skylanders Spyro's Adventure will change the way we look at toys and video games by bringing the world of toys, video games and the Internet together in an unprecedented way."

Look... Activision. You're already making lots and lots of money... and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Money is a good thing and it's great to see a company doing so well with a rough economy. But HOLY MOTHER OF GOD... you've got all of those great games coming in for you Activision. You can live off of the profits of Modern Warfare 3's pre-orders alone, I bet. And you know what's funny? You're also going to be making a ridiculous amount of money off of the money that Blizzard is going to make with Diablo 3.

SO PLEASE, for the love of god. Either make your DLCs cheaper... or FREE would be nice. And please be like every other game company and knock your prices down a little. I'd love to buy Black Ops, but I also am on a college student's budget and spending $60 on a game that should by now be at least half that price just cannot cut it for me

Edit: Here are the details about the game:

  • It's dropping August 23
  • Yes, it's $15
  • It's 5 zombie levels. 4 are remakes from WaW: Nacht der Untoten, Verruckt, Shi No Numa, and Der Riese. The last one Moon is completely new. And yes, it takes place on the moon. Woo.

MW3 is almost out and it's still $60? Plus getting $15 DLC? This is ridiculous. The game isn't even very good... I thought it was like $45 by now...

This is such a joke....Sadly, the only way it will stop is if less people start buying them. Which unfortunately, everyone still does for some reason.

Why am I not surprised? I'm betting they want to distract people from the BF3 beta.
