So, word around the block has been that Windows 8 will be able to run Xbox 360 games. Many people called bs, citing hardware conflicts and the issue of player imbalance between PC gamers and Xbox 360 gamers. (If you have no idea what I mean, let's just say that even mediocre PC gamers can make an expert 360 gamer cry.)

Well, the rumors have proven true... sort of. Xbox Live IS coming to Windows 8, although it hasn't been confirmed whether or not Windows 8 will run Xbox 360 games. Microsoft's Mike Delman confirmed this news:

Quote
"Live has been successful on the Windows Phone. Live will be built into the PC. It will be the service where you get your entertainment. We were talking about it — you will not just see consoles and handhelds at this show next year, this show’s going to morph into other devices."

I'm going to take a stab in the dark right now and say no... although that would be pretty cool.

Killjoy was discussing it last night on the podcast (which I don't believe is up yet, but it will be! Not shameless advertising or anything...). There's too much imbalance between PC gamers and 360 gamers, and unless there was a way to make sure PC gamers plugged in a 360 controller to play, the games would be absolutely unfair.

Oh well. I guess the cool thing is that you'd be able to do... Xbox...Live...things... on... your... computer...  because... um... you... can? (Honestly, I don't see the point. If you're going to check up on Xbox Live, why not just do it on your 360 if you're going to do it on your PC? It's really the same thing.)

You know what this mean?
This means with high propability that it's after all going to be a cross-platformer. This truly is good news to a certain degree, but only if we get to beat the shit out of XBOXers.

Yeah that will never work. Xbox players wont stand a chance. Not because we are pr0. Because our aim is much more accurate!

I didn't know you were aware of xbox.com haha. You made it seem like you have to use a Xbox to get on XBL. Maybe I just misunderstood. =P
I'm all for it though if you can play 360 games on PC... I know it would be cheap, but I really miss some of my games, like Reach. And I can get console games for really cheap ($30 for a brand new game lol) from a local store here. Nobody could ridicule me for playing a great game just because it's on console either, I'd *technically* be using a PC and it would *technically* be PC gaming....

Ah, no. I was aware. Lol I wrote about how GFWL got fused into Xbox.com a week or so ago. Tongue
Really I'm trying to underline the pointlessness of integrating this into Windows 8 precisely be ause... well you have a 360 available to you and Xbox.com. This is just Microsoft's shoddy excuse to force it onto users like they did with GFWL, especially if 360 games can't be played on PC.

She was not making anything seem like it.. The news itself is talking about how windows 8 will be a full ingratiation with xbox live, its services and possibly its games.
