PugGaming News

This week we have made an announcement about the upcoming months!  There's so much that we'll be doing for the summer: plenty of events, game giveaways, and so on!  We'll also be looking to take a breather, and hire some game managers.  Also, look forward to seeing more servers up in games other than minecraft (though we'll still have our minecraft server up and running!) as well as some podcasts.  You can read more about what has been posted for the summer here.  Lets all start counting down. Wink

Next we have a new video uploaded to the server: Tempest 410 Video Review!  Killjoy has very skilledly recorded a review of the case that Nzxt has very kindle shared with us.  Keep an eye out for a more thorough written review of the case, as well as photos of it with a rig in it, later this week.  This case will be given out, along with a 20$ steam game!  Read more here, and thank NZXT here (from puggaming) in order to enter the game giveaway.

Then we have our minecraft server.  It has been down the past week or so, but we are working on getting it up.  We are looking into making the current map that we have all been working on for some months a private server, and starting up a new public server.  This is due to bukkit plugin issues... However, we'll release more information there!  Inside our server, we have an ever expanding city known as Hopton.  Tingle, the curator, has made a post to keep us all updated on his work here.  Feel free to look it over as he updates and adds more to the thread, as well as Hopton itself.

Gaming News

What's happening in the world of games?  Well a lot.  There are so many games out there: AAA titles, Indies, games in development, games that are nothing more than an idea in a person's head waiting to be created!  Now, because there are so many games, I cannot possibly keep up with all of them... I can hardly keep up with the ones I am personally interested in.  For this week, I'll make some mentions to games that are talked about on the forums.  If there are any games you would like to see mentioned here, please make note at some point, and I'll do my best to keep track.  I would also like to note that this section will expand over the week, with more news and information that I read about!  Let's start out with new dlc:

DLC

First dlc is not one we may want to hear about just yet: the first map pack for MW3.  Why wouldn't we want to hear about?  Oh just the normal reason... it's not on pc yet... or the ps3 for that matter.  No of course it isn't.  But enough hate... here's what we will see in this map pack once it hits the pc:  four multiplayer maps (Piazza, Liberation, Overwatch, Black Box) and two spec ops missions (Black Ice and Negotiator).  If you've seen the trailer on tv, you'll hear activision brag about how this is the biggest dlc map pack ever (for cod).  The price is the same as the map packs normally are: 14.99.  Here's the trailer for those interested:
Call Of Duty - Modern Warfare 3 Collection 1 Official Launch MW3 DLC Trailer HD

Next we have two announcements of dlc for Mass Effect 3!  Some of you may recall my post about Bioware saying they are going to change the ending of Mass Effect 3.  Well guess what?  They've announced that the dlc will be free and released this summer.  They have this to say: "Through additional cinematic sequences and epilogue scenes, the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut will give fans seeking further clarity to the ending of Mass Effect 3 deeper insights into how their personal journey concludes."  You can read more about it here
But there's more!  Next wednesday we'll be seeing more dlc released for Mass Effect 3... for free.  The Resurgence Pack focuses on multiplayer and includes: 2 new maps, 6 new playable races and classes, 3 new guns, and some new consumables.  The races and classes are as follows: the Asari Justicar Adept, the Krogan Battlemaster Vanguard, the Batarian Soldier, the Batarian Sentinel, the Geth Engineer and the Geth Infiltrator.  The weapons are: Striker Assault Rifle, Kishock Harpoon Gun, and Geth Plasma SMG.  Here is the trailer:
Mass Effect 3: Resurgence Trailer

Next we have the Battlefield 3 dlc that we mentioned a few days ago here.  There are multiple DLCs, but they're all basically the same thing: paid unlocks.  The pricing ranges from 4.99 to a whopping  39.99.  If you need to unlock stuff for a kit that you just can't play (or can't be bothered to play), or have no time to unlock everything... well then here's your answer.  It's a bit sad to see this dlc, just because I personally enjoy unlocking things... Sad  But I guess that's just me.

Updates

I do not have much to mention here, as I haven't really kept up with many games, nor their updates... However, there was a recent update to skyrim (1.5).  Here's the nitty gritty details from steam:

And there was an update to Team Fortress 2 as well!  The details from steam:

   Upcoming releases!

Specials

Everyone's favourite part!  Well should be everyone's favourite part of any news...  Game sales and special deals!  This weekend we have plenty of *spring* sales, as well as four indie bundles on the loose!  All sites that I list are trusted sites, that I have personally used before.  Not all of the games in the sales are steam redeemable, so feel free to ask if you're not sure or check here.   I would also like to note that I provide links to their "promo" pages as some of the sites have a rather excessive number of sales, so I will refrain from listing all of the games and just mention noteworthy ones.  (This is especially applied to amazon, who is having a large spring sale on over 150 games)

LoL?  I think we have some people playing... But I don't really know too much. Sad I don't personally play LoL, just cause I'm not a fan of f2p games.  I like dota tho, still play it on w3..

But I believe we have a thread here http://puggaming.net/other-gaming/leauge-of-legends/ maybe hit it up and see if anyone else still plays, for 5v5.

I think it would be great to get people to play dota2 together!  especially after it is released, if it is f2p... I don't know how many people have the beta in pug, but I'm sure plenty do considering...

wow thats a shit load of info very nice work taylynne!

Thank you! Grin hopefully it is informative/useful for at least a few people. Smiley

I plan on taking a census of sorts, to see what games everyone plays!  (multiplayer for possible events)

I may see if anyone has any event ideas; but I'm not worried about that until I figure everything out and get it up for everyone so I can get a variety of information (and some other stuff..)

But! Be Mine 2 bundles is officially up and running.
