The squad-based FPS Gotham City Impostors is now free to play. On August 30th, 2012, Warner Bros. Entertainment announced that Gotham City Impostors would go free to play. If you get GCI on Steam, you have access to the DLC content that the current players already have. It is not known why Warner Bros. Entertainment made this game free to play, but I figure that they will release more details. I personally don't like that F2P players get what the normal players have. But, I guess that's how business works, unless I'm wrong. Also, apparently there was a glitch on Steam where it would show the game in your library when it wasn't installed, yet it wasn't grayed out, but that was fixed.

I feel bad for the people who purchase the game and get nothing special.  TF2 pushed it , making it so that anyone could get full benefits by purchasing something in the store... meaning you could get full benefits for a dollar.  ><

I'd be worried to buy any mmo game tbh.  So many are going f2p, it's not really funny. :\  There are some I wouldn't worry about (Guild Wars 2 in particular) but I'm rather worried about Secret World... Star Wars Old Republic is going f2p soon enough, I wouldn't be surprised if Secret World ends up needing to go f2p as well..

Alot of MMOs and FPSes seem to seek the need to go F2P. Old Republic is going f2p like you said, and I do have the same fear about Secret World and other games. I've yet to try this game, but I have heard mixed reviews about it. If anyone else has tried it, post here and tell us how you think it is.

Eric and I both have played it but that was during beta.  we plan on playing some this weekend though I think.  I thought it was fine from what I played, but I didn't play enough to really say much.  Maybe we'll record some or... something.

I'm kind of torn between wanting f2p and p2p for it tbh.  I hate monthly fees, but I hate not getting the whole damn game.  Which is what tends to happen with f2p ><
