Last night when I was playing Portal 2 co-op with Ojler, a Steam message popped up saying that ArmA 3 is being shown on E3 live. I couldn't believe my eyes, for a second there I actually thought I was another mindless drone that Glados was running and that it was another "portal" experiment.

None the less, I dashed with fury to finish the level as fast as I can in order to go watch the live feed and I died.....like 5 times in that process. When I finally did finish the level and went on to watch the live stream I was surprised, yes. But not by much, what Bohemia did was show a singular section of the complete island gameplay, which was limited due to time constraints and they covered the major aspects of the games instead of showing eye candy.

The new ArmA game is said to include Amphibious mode, which means you can dive in and interact within the water, mostly to sneak up on unsuspecting enemies, a rag-doll death, one feature which the ArmA community has been hoping for along time and on the fly weapon customization. Features which you will see in the video provided below.

This is used using the pre-alpha gameplay footage, what that means is that this might be the same old engine under works or they specifically completed this one section to show to the general population. Every aspect of the ArmA series is inspire from reality, so you can expect gameplay to be tactical and very realistic. A cool feature I noticed was in the helicopter section, whenever he fired a rocket, that rocket tube would be empty and you could see how many you fired and how many you had left in third person view, that is a real accomplishment, it shows visual confirmation of objects released/contained. This engine is shaping to be good.

Sections of features of what you can expect from the new game....

Infantry Combat:
1. Customizable Gear.
2. Ragdoll Animations.

Ground Vehicles:
1. Physical Simulation of Driving.
2. Physical Entity Collisions.
3. Improved Vehicle Controls.

Environment:
1. Mediterranean Island.
2. Largest in the series.
3. Based on High-Fidelity real life data.
4. Volumetric Clouds.

Under Water:
1. Diving.
2. Special Equipment.
3. Underwater Life.
4. Detailed sea-bottom.

Next generation of ArmA:
1. Engine Improvements.
2. New Possibilities.
3. Full Spectrum of Vehicles.
4. Campaign, Mission's, Editor, Multiplayer.
5. Modifications Support.

Campaign:
1. Singleplayer.
2. Strong Story.
3. Sandbox Elements.
4. Multiple Endings.
5. Lone Wolf/Commander.
6. Fight the way you want.

Setting:
1. Near Future.
2. Global Conflict.
3. NATO v/s East.
